7 JULY 2019

It's 7pm and well, guess what? 20 miles isn't that far! I saw lots of great scenery today but as I got closer to Mt. Ashland the trail and road traffic just kept getting heavier and heavier. I cleared Mt. Ashland by 2pm and thought, "Hmmmm. What now?" It was too early for dinner. Two hikers I spoke with, Paddles and Tidbits, said, "20 miles isn't so bad." I didn't see any places that I wanted to camp in on the way down, so here I am, having a beer and waiting on dinner.

It was kind of a long descent, though. My feet are sore but I took lots of breaks. There was some beautiful country up there; lots of incredible meadows and once again, the plant diversity--amazing!

No rain last night, but the humidity bumped up after dark and the inside of my tent was dripping. It seemed very strange considering how bone-dry the area was. It dried out in the middle of the night. I didn't really sleep solid--kinda off and on most of the night.
