Garibaldi to Lincoln City (July 7-11)

9:15 p.m. I'm back out on the trail again after waiting out the holiday weekend and some rain the last couple of days. The sun is supposed to come out tomorrow after a possibly drizzly start to the day.

I rode the bus to Tillamook and then walked the 8 or so miles of pavement out to Bayocean. That was a long road walk though it did go pretty quick. My feet were feeling sore by the time I got to the trail. Made it to this meadow campsite near the start of the jetty by 6:30 pm after leaving Tillamook at 2:30 pm. Got to see a nice herd of elk in the bay meadows just before the parking area. Also saw some large groups of heron and egret in some of the trees by the lake and along the road earlier.

Nice campsite except for some pesky mosquitos and some traffic noise across the channel. I'll be back on the beach tomorrow!
