I was finally able to finish off that last skipped section at Salishan spit. Parked at the end of Laurel Street in Gleneden Beach and walked out to the end of the spit.
I went back out to the coast today. It was a little cloudy this morning so it stayed above freezing for the drive down to Depoe Bay. It was actually in the mid 50s when I got there
I managed to knock out another skipped segment of the OCT. This time I got in the beginning 3.8 miles from the Peter Iredale
Just got back from a coast trip to fill in some gaps from last summer’s long section hikes.
I decided to day hike a couple sections of the OCT that I skipped this summer while backpacking.
Started by driving to Taft and catching the bus north to Devils Lake State Park
Last day and out early to beat the bugs. Had coffee on trail and still many, many bugs!
I’m camped on a little shelf just a short way below Cutthroat Pass. The hike today along the Methow River was overgrown but easy going.
Camped along Brush Creek at some not-so-great spots just up from the water. Not ideal, but I think it will work.
Well, the weather was not good in the morning. In fact, the wind kept up all night and into the morning.
