That was some of the most spectacular and difficult hiking I’ve ever done! Zipper, or Desiree asked if she could hike along with me through the challenging section today.
Last day and out early to beat the bugs. Had coffee on trail and still many, many bugs!
I’m camped on a little shelf just a short way below Cutthroat Pass. The hike today along the Methow River was overgrown but easy going.
Camped along Brush Creek at some not-so-great spots just up from the water. Not ideal, but I think it will work.
Well, the weather was not good in the morning. In fact, the wind kept up all night and into the morning.
I’m camped just below Woody Pass in a meadow again in a bit of a wind tunnel. Made it here by about 4 p.m. and was going to head to Hopkins Lake but
Had to duck into the tent early because the skeeters were insane! Well, I finally made it to the Pasayten Wilderness.
Made it to the end at 1:58 PM. Started hiking at 7 AM. It sprinkled a little during the night. Kind of drippy near the top of Big Huckleberry Mountain
I just saw some blue sky over the Big Lava bed next to camp. That’s the first blue sky I’ve seen today. Last night’s campspot became a constant tree shower when blowing fog rolled in around midnight.
It’s almost hiker midnight. My latest adventure is on the PCT in Washington again completing the Indian heaven section that I bailed on last year after getting soaked for a day and a half on Mount Adams.
