Well, it was dry most of the day. Early this morning around 4 am I woke up to some light drizzle on the tent. It only lasted 30 or 40 minutes. When I got up at about 6 am everything was pretty much dry.

Well, it was dry most of the day. Early this morning around 4 am I woke up to some light drizzle on the tent. It only lasted 30 or 40 minutes. When I got up at about 6 am everything was pretty much dry.
Mosquitos are driving me nuts! I’m camped at about mile 2257 on the map at the end of a little ridge with a pretty good view. Part of the view is of clouds coming in from the south west.
That was some of the most spectacular and difficult hiking I’ve ever done! Zipper–or Desiree– asked if she could hike along with me through the challenging section today.
Here I am in the Goat Rocks wilderness doing a section hike from White Pass to the Stabler area on the Wind river. It should work out to about 116 miles.
Well, actually it’s much later but that’s ok. I did a lot more walking than I should have. As soon as I got on the trail I noticed shooting pains in my knee!
This night’s camp spot is nothing like last night’s. No views and lots of mosquitos! I’m camped in the woods just south of Chinidere mountain.
Well, I’m back on the trail again. This time I’m on the final Oregon section, Timberline to Cascade Locks! Started at the lodge at 2:15 pm with hopes of completing the 50 miles in 48 hours.
Well, the mist rolled in last night just before dark. In the middle of the night we were in the fog bank. Later in the night it totally cleared out!
Sitting here at camp watching the clouds pass by and wondering if we’ll get rained on tonight.
Wow! Really pretty country is quite the understatement. We are camped on a ridge line meadow just off the PCT right at the border of the Glacier Peaks Wilderness.
